Nassau is the port a lot of Bahamas itineraries still include between Florida and a Disney island day. It is also the port people overspend in.
You do not have to book anything. The ship stays. Lunch is still free on board. If the same cruise already stops at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay, you already paid for a beach.
If you do want a Port Adventure, use Disney's names. The live catalog is Nassau Port Adventures. Forty-one official options were listed in August 2026. Prices are on that page and Disney marks them as subject to change, so they are not copied here.

Book through Disney if you want the ship to wait
Official Port Adventures are run by independent contractors. Disney still sells the ones on that list, and the official pitch is operational, not poetic: start times move if the ship is late, and if the tour runs long they wait or get you to the next port.
You book after the cruise is paid in full, once your window opens — 75 days for first-timers, then 90 / 105 / 120 / 123 by Castaway Club, earlier for Concierge. Details are on the booking guide and Disney's activities FAQ. After you sail, the Port Adventures desk can still add leftovers.
Cancellation on the official excursion pages: up to 3 days before the cruise departure date unless that specific activity says otherwise, then it is final.
Kids under 18 need an adult on the tour, except the teen-only ones.
Skip
A paid beach day, if Lookout Cay or Castaway Cay is already on the itinerary. True-True BBQ and Cookies BBQ are in the fare. Blue Lagoon is a lovely island. It is also a second beach you are paying for.
Staying on the ship. Disney's own help center treats "remain on board in port" as a normal choice. Pools, the kids clubs and rotational dinner do not close because the gangway is open.
A transfer you will not use. `Nassau by Private Van – Round-trip Atlantis Transfer (N503 PVT)` and the Baha Mar equivalent (N501 PVT) only make sense if Atlantis or Baha Mar is actually the plan. Same for the private SUV and van half-days (N502 PVT, N504 PVT).
Animal encounters you are booking because they are on the screen. The official list has dolphin, sea lion and shark products at Blue Lagoon and dolphin products at Atlantis Dolphin Cay. They are real tours. They are not a default.
Anything you cannot name. If the shore-side seller's title is not on Disney's list, it is not a Disney Port Adventure. That is fine. It is also not the "we'll wait for the ship" product.
Book — if this is the day you wanted
Water parks
- Atlantis Aquaventure (N25). Slides, wave pools, The Dig aquarium, the beach. This is the one people mean when they say "we did Atlantis."
- Baha Bay Waterpark & Beach at Baha Mar (N35). The other big water-park day, on the Baha Mar side.
- Atlantis Coral Tower Cabana (N65). A cabana, not a park ticket. Different product, different price.
These do not exist on the ship. If the kids have been staring at the Atlantis skyline from the pier, this is the "book it" column.
Blue Lagoon
- Blue Lagoon Family Island Beach Day (N44). Boat to the island, beach, swim, kayaks. Official copy is that simple.
- Blue Lagoon Island Exclusive Adults Only Beach Day (N96). Same idea, adults.
- Dolphin / sea lion / shark encounters (N21, N41, N22, N40, N113) if that is specifically why you left the ship.

That is the official sightseeing-and-culture list, not a ranking. Harbor cruise and the forts/fish-fry tour are the ones that look like "see Nassau and get back" if you read the Disney blurbs. We are not going to invent a winner.
The skip-or-book shortcut
- Check the itinerary. Island day already included? Default to skip.
- Want Atlantis or Baha Bay specifically? Book the named Disney tour (or a named transfer if you are doing it your own way).
- Want a guided couple of hours? Harbor cruise, land-and-sea, or the forts/fish-fry tour — official names only.
- Want animals or scuba? Book the exact code on Disney's list. Do not buy a similar name on the pier and assume it is the same product.
- Want the return-to-ship policy? Book on Disney's site or at the desk. That is the trade.
Prices vary. Disney says so. Check the official list when your window opens, not a screenshot from last year.
If Nassau is the reason the fare looks high, it usually isn't — the ship and the month are. That is a tracker problem, not an excursion problem.
